THF Grants
Please be advised that at present, the Texas Historical Foundation grants are focused in two areas: rural preservation (for communities of under 30,000 population) and archeology.
Occasionally, THF does fund projects in other areas, and all grant requests will be considered.
Board of Directors administers the following preservation grants:
Charles E. And Sarah Meadows Seay Fund
Funds general preservation activities.
Legal Preservation Fund
Established to identify and preserve information relating to the legal history of the Republic and State of Texas.
Joseph P. Ballard Archaeology Fund
Supports archaeological research and preservation projects.
Jeanne R.Blocker Memorial Fund
Created for projects that address preservation in rural areas of Texas. Rural as defined by the guidelines set up by the THF board is a population of less than 30,000.
J.P. Bryan Preservation
Trust Funds general preservation activities.
Historic Photography Fund
established in 1988, was created to support projects dealing with the
preservation of historic photography.

PURPOSE
The Texas Historical Foundation Grant Program was organized to:
1. Support projects and activities in education, research, archaeology, and
the preservationof Texas history.
2. Sponsor publications and materials relating to Texas history.
3. Encourage activities promoting Texas traditions, values, and patriotic events.
4. Collaborate with state, regional, and local historical groups in strengthening
preservation endeavors.
5. Communicate to the general public the unique role and function of the
Texas Historical Foundation.
